meet the band
marcel Conlin
Vocals/Rhythm Guitar
Hello, I’m Marcel, the rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for Riffilia. Sitting in the backseat, I’ve always been listening to metal bands of all kinds, ranging from Slayer, The Misfits, and beyond — props to my father. Throughout all of high school, I was in band classes, and for the last two years I played in marching band and winter percussion; but I wanted more. So I practiced guitar on the side whenever my family couldn’t hear me and I was alone.
My skills were never the spotlight of my music career — I liked being in the background, unnoticed. Over time, however, the crowds from competitions, halftime shows, and festivals motivated me to be better. So when I was asked to join Riffilia, I went for it. Soon after, I was playing music I didn’t know I had the ability or skill to play.
Riffilia gave me the key that unlocked the door to my true passion and creative freedom. I push myself each day to play better, sound better, and have fun with my bandmates. Even the smallest crowd gets me ready to push above and beyond, and I want to know how far me and my friends can go. How far Riffilia can go.
Warren Granados
Lead Guitar
Hello, I'm Warren, the Lead Guitarist for Riffilia. I've been listening to metal and rock pretty much all my life because of my family, and I've been playing on my own for the last 3 years. I enjoy music, so I took a lot of band classes and mostly played the marimba and xylophone in marching band for 4 years.
With my experience, I've earned superior awards for solo and ensemble, as well as an award for being an outstanding front ensemble member during my winter percussion season.
Being a new original band, getting our name out there, and being as likeable as possible are my main goals with the band. Of course money would be nice along the way. I love the excitement of performing on stage with my friends, and I want to continue making music and playing with Riffilia. I want to live my life on stage, and I'll always keep playing guitar if it doesn't work out.
Iain Langevin
Bass Guitar
I first started my music journey in middle school where I played trumpet and later percussion. When covid hit I took a break from music but later during high school I got a random drive to play my dads bass and I haven't been able to put it down since. Sophomore year I joined the music program at school where I met some amazing people that are now my fellow bandmates. Even though I played a wide variety of instruments I always stuck with bass and meeting these people made me strive to be a better musician. It wasn't until junior year when I joined marching band and winter percussion where I really got to develop my skills.
In solo and ensemble I was able to achieve superior two years in a row as well as an excellent. I achieved state for both years I was in marching band and state for our schools higher level orchestra.
My biggest goal for Riffilia is to make some music that people enjoy. I also just wanna play music with some of my closest friends. I wanna make nasty riffs that make people go crazy. Riffilia is an amazing outlet for me to have fun playing the best genre of music, metal.
Jacob Moore
Drums/Percussion
Hey guys, I’m Jacob, drummer for Riffilia. I grew up around lots of music, and I’ve been apart of it once I got the chance, and I did a whole lot with my skills. Marching band drumline for 4 years, then indoor percussion for 4 years, and band classes all throughout high school. All my other learning has been on my own, which is NOT an easy process.
On top of my learning, I’ve also received multiple superior awards for solo performances, the Louis Armstrong national jazz award, and best drummer award at the Florence high school rock band competition. That was awesome.
Anyway, my future goals for our band is to just be awesome and have fun. I also wanna sound good and play some hard music, but at the same time I wanna have fun because that’s what our band usually does.
